About BCTalks: An Undergraduate Lecture Series
BCTalks is brought to you by ESS, "Education for Students by Students". ESS was founded in Fall 2010 and initially launched BCTalks' sister program, BC Splash. In Fall 2011, ESS launched its first ever BCTalks program.
The goal of BCTalks follows the mission of ESS: "to instill a sense of excitement in both learning and teaching". We believe there is a dichotomy at Boston College between a student's academic and social life, which programs like BCTalks aim to close. BCTalks gives undergraduates in a variety of academic disciplines a platform to share their research, knowledge, and passions, while opening dialogue about those topics in a social setting. For the audience, BCTalks provides an opportunity for students to listen to their peers, get inspired, and learn about current and exciting research and ideas. Like TEDTalks, professional videos will be made of every lecture and will be posted as soon as they are available. Keep checking in!
While we encourage interested students to attend the entire event, it is entirely possible to attend just one or a few lectures.
